Inspiration for Today

I am very excited to see that Jimmy Choo is celebrating their 15 year anniversary with a beautiful coffee table book! I could only snag an image of the cover, but from the looks of it this book is going to be chocked full of amazing and inspirational images from people like Mario Testino and Terry Richardson. And just to make you feel even better, 100% of the proceeds will go to the Jimmy Choo Foundation, a charitable trust.

The book begins, "The shoemaker was Jimmy Choo; the beautiful and clever young woman is Tamara Melon; the magazine, British Vogue. The rest is, as they say, history."

I am so so excited to see this. You can pre-order the book now for $95 (it's already on my Christmas list!)

Equestrian Art

In all the rooms I've been pinning lately, I've noticed that large-scale photographs of horses are in a lot of them! One of my absolute favorite artists, Roberto Dutesco, takes amazing photographs of the wild Sable Island horses. A lot of designers have been using his huge photos to bring magic and warmth to the sometimes cold lines of modern interiors.

Designer Jarlath Mellett used three of the smaller prints in a series above a sofa. Love!

Design Diva: Elizabeth Dinkel

I came across an image of one of my favorite bedrooms on pinterest the other day and thought "hmm, I wonder if it leads to the designer's page?" and guess what - it did! For once! Elizabeth Dinkel is a wonderful designer who has a talent for mixing modern elements with antiques to create a classic yet fresh harmony.

This is the first in a series of posts I've wanted to do about home tours! Today I'm blogging the fabulous home of the always fabulous Kate Spade. I've always loved her brand and if you've ever seen her stores they ooze style (just like her!)

ATL Trip - Hirsch Bedner Associates Tour

I know I have been MIA this week, but allow me to explain - on Tuesday I went on a fun trip to Atlanta with some of my friends. ASID at UGA organized a tour of some firms and showrooms so we could get a taste of the real world. Aside from being completely overwhelmed, I loved seeing how a big firm works. Our first stop was Hirsch Bedner Associates and, may I just say, holy cow. Their office is PHENOMENAL.

After exiting the white marble-paneled elevator, this is what we walked into. Gorgeous. That chandelier was custom made - if you stand underneath it and look up, it's the HBA logo!

This is their conference room where they gave us a presentation about their design process and showed us examples of their work. Can you believe that HUGE marble table??

Here is their resource area and their concept boxes that they present to clients. I love the innovation of the boxes! They said they're a lot easier to transport when traveling than a huge material board.

The fun & funky office kitchen!

We were able to see their studio as well. Not only was the view over Atlanta's cityscape beautiful, but the vibe of the office was great! Everyone seemed very laid-back and friendly.

I never really pictured myself at a large firm, but after this tour I really could see myself somewhere like HBA! Their design aesthetic was completely similar to mine and I'd love to have the opportunity to travel and see all the amazing projects that they've done. So I'll leave you with some inspirational HBA design candy:
