To Go With the Dragons...

Some beautiful foo dogs! I need some knickknacks to dress up my shelves and stacks (and stacks and stacks...) of books. These have been all over the place, going unnoticed in a lot of magazine spreads. They will be purrrfect for my regency-glam-homey theme room!

Need Summa This

I need some chiang mai in my life. A smidge too expensive for my broke-ass college budget, but it's so pretty!! I'm pretty sure I can rationalize eating ramen for a month for these beauties... right?

Can't Stop Playing...

BORN THIS WAY!! You either love her or hate her, but I can safely say I am a little monster for life. Yes, Lady Gaga is a little too weird/crazy sometimes but I love that she doesn't take herself seriously and stays true to who she is! This new album reminds me of the 80's but not in a cliche way -- it is rock and pop and is totally gaga. I can't say I love every song on the album, but the more I listen to it the more it grows on me!

Just take a listen to this ear porn:

Anddd check out these shots below from the "Born This Way" digital booklet. FABOOSH.

Map Time

Since I am moving into our new house sometime in the next week (still up in the air... don't get me started!) I realized that my roomies probably won't be bringing much to hang on the walls in the communal areas. So I've been browsing through my inspiration folders and I noticed I've been seeing a lot of map art lately! Whether they are cutouts or straight-up framed roadmaps, I love them ALL. An old map can add homey-ness to a space, while modern map art can add some fun and cute-ness.

wouldn't this be cute with all six of our hometowns in hearts?
(it could definitely be DIY'd for much less than the hefty $400 price tag!!)

love this bright cutout map of Paris

Thought I'd Share...

I was scrolling through Pinterest (as usual, since it is my new obsession) and saw this b-e-a-utiful cover of Eva Green on the cover of british bazaar. Simple & chic.

Big 'ole Lights

The designer that I'm interning for has a fabulous homey-sophisticated-yet-warm style and I've been trying to dissect it and learn as much as I can. One thing I noticed is that she uses a lot of oversized light fixtures. In a room with high ceilings, these large-scale lights bring a little humor and warmness to a space.

White Out

I am currently contemplating my room decor for next year. I am in college so I would like for it to be fun and girly, but at the same time it must be a space that feels soft and sophisticated so I can relax. I've been seeing lots of beautiful spaces with white bedding and (aside from screaming "SPILL SHIT ON ME!") I really like the idea.

Gorgeee, no?? It just looks so serene! Mixing textures and cream/white tones gives the space less of a mental-hospital feel. I'm also thinking about adding a bright and colorful headboard...

Or maybe some bright and cheery pillows...

I am just too indecisive to pick anything at the moment! Designers should never do their own spaces because they will never be finished. Urg.
